The list of immediately identifiable guitarists working in mostly
instrumental music rarely grows. Pat Metheny, Leo Kottke, John
Fahey and Ralph Towner have been on the list since the 1970s, and
right about 1991 Bill Frisell [

] joined them at the top. In '91 and '92, Frisell released "Where
in the World?" and "Have a Little Faith," two albums that
catapulted him as distinctive and personal, yet experimental and

Fox made Kara DioGuardi's departure from "American Idol [ tickets ]" official as the rumor mill continued to heat up over the arrival of Jennifer Lopez as a judge. DioGuardi was a judge in the series' eighth and ninth seasons.
In a statement issued by Fox, DioGuardi said, "I feel like now is the best time to leave 'Idol.' ... I look forward to my next challenge." ...continued More news: American Idol
